Background & Context

Cox’s Bazar of Chittagong division is a coastal district located to south-eastern corner of Bangladesh. The Bay of Bengal is located to the south and west of the district thus it is the most significant domestic tourist destination, famous for its beaches. According to the UNDA Framework, Cox’s Bazar district is considered as one of 20 (out of 64) ‘lagging districts’ of Bangladesh (based on indicators of poverty, literacy, nutrition, infrastructures, services, risks associated with environmental degradation, etc.). It is also one of nine districts performing poorly on all indicators. Most of the poor household depends on daily wages like selling physical labour, Rickshaw pulling etc. Most of the extreme poor household suffer every year by extreme cold. Street people, students of Orphanage house, poor students of religious institution are mostly suffered.

 

Proposed Action & Implementation

ASTA  seeking funding from the member, well-wisher, and humanitarian hearted  to implement the following interventions:

Beneficiary Selection, Visibility & Reporting

Beneficiary Selection:

The beneficiary selection process for the project in Cox’s Bazar will be carried out by SRSDO. This selection will adhere to pre-defined criteria that have been established to identify individuals or groups who are eligible to benefit from the project. The criteria will likely include specific demographic, socio-economic, or other relevant factors.

Visibility & Documentation:

ASTA will play a crucial role in ensuring visibility and maintaining proper documentation throughout the entire project implementation. This involves making the project activities transparent and easily observed by stakeholders. ASTA will meticulously record and organize relevant information, providing a comprehensive account of the project’s progress, challenges, and successes.

Reporting:

Upon the completion of the project, ASTA will take the lead in producing a detailed report. This report will serve both internal and external purposes. Internally, it will offer insights into the project’s efficacy, lessons learned, and areas for improvement. Externally, the report will be prepared for publication, making the project’s outcomes accessible to a wider audience. This external publication may include stakeholders, partner organizations, and the general public, contributing to knowledge sharing and transparency.
